Pulitzer Prize Winners For 2011 Announced: "The 2011 Pulitzer Prizes were announced on Monday. The New York Times and Los Angeles Times each won two awards, with the LA Times winning the coveted Public Service Pulitzer for its expose of corruption in the small town of Bell, and one for feature photography. The New York Times won one award for its international news coverage of Russia. Business writer David Leonhardt also won for Commentary.
Among the other winners:
—the Washington Post won for breaking news photography of the earthquake in Haiti.
—the Chicago Sun-Times won for local reporting for its coverage of violence in the city.
—online news outlet ProPublica won its second Pulitzer in two years, this time for national reporting for its coverage of Wall Street.
—Mike Keefe of the Denver Post won for editorial cartooning."
