The 55th Annual report of the Registrar of Newspapers for India said that as many as 3671 newspapers were published from Uttar Pradesh followed by Delhi with 1933 and Madhya Pradesh with 1243 newspapers.

Newspaper circulation in India continued to rise over eight per cent in 2010-11. Regional language dailies had a significant rise, despite uncertainty faced by the print industry in the West. The 55th Annual report of the Registrar of Newspapers for India said that as many as 3671 newspapers were published from Uttar Pradesh followed by Delhi with 1933 and Madhya Pradesh with 1243 newspapers.
